In 1986 there was a quirky little carton called "Fimations ghostbusters" it was about these two goofy guys and a smart gorrilla who go around and bust ghosts. I always thought it was a cheap knock off of the "ghost busters' movies as the 80s ended I forgot all about it and moved on. Tonight however as i was in "Movie Stop'(like a game stop with movies) i found the live action series from 1975!! Of course I had to pick it up!! It is the whole sereis, 15 episodes in all. i love odd things and this seems to be topper!! to fill you in a bit if your lost about the show.....

Does anyone out there know of any decent open mic nights in the South West? I'm thinking around Exeter, Plymouth and down into Cornwall.

I'm about to give stand-up a go and, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing. Did a ton of sketch shows when I was at uni but I've never gone it alone. If any other aspiring stand-ups or fully fledged ones have some advice then please pass it on.

We moved into our new house in April. There's a nice big deck above, where my husband insisted upon having a table & chairs. I had really wanted a lounge-y patio area, and was a little bummed until I was outside one day and realized we could definitely do that underneath the deck. There was already a concrete slab but the previous owners had their wood storage there (just outside the basement door). So with a little elbow grease, some leftover Anno Unni panels and some budget decor, we ended up with this....

I just finished a powder room renovation based on this vintage seaside print by Ruth Mary Hallock. I picked up the frame very cheap and dry brushed a midnight blue acrylic paint over to set off the colour in the little girl's romper.

Hi everyone! I looked back a few pages, but with a lack of tags and this place being very quiet it's time for a new topic. The boy and I met my last semester of Undergrad (when I was trying to NOT start anything up - go figure lol.) and we decided to stick it out. I'm just starting my two year MFA and he's on his final year of his Nursing degree. So far things have been cruising along just peachy for the summer time (I'm down in Texas and he's in New York), but with the fall approaching fast I thought I'd ask for advice. See, the catch is I'll be out in California for Grad school and he'll be in Vermont finishing his Undergrad. So the time differences alone will prove hectic to our busy school schedules. We're thankfully getting a good dose of each other before school starts (ten days woo!), but after that we won't be sure when I can fly out for my turn to see him.

So any suggestions/advice/tips/etc that has worked for you in the past with keeping an LD relationship lively? One of the catches is he doesn't own a computer. He uses either the library or computer lab since he's not technologically inclined (edited to clarify that it meant more his extreme lack of know-how) at all. He's just now getting a cell phone so we can talk thanks to no land line in his apartment, and anywhere else. Lord knows his friends are going to appreciate that too lol.

Anything would be greatly appreciated since neither of us have really dived into an LDR before.

Edit: While it is appreciated the overall suggestion he should get a laptop since he could have a webcam/Skype and take advantage of these benefits, I'd really like to hear anything else people have done that doesn't involve those two things. So if there's any other suggestions besides those please!

Since it was Christmas time when I posted my loft (http://community.livejournal.com/saucydwellings/1498236.html), there were a lot of things that were bound to change. Right now we're just trying to keep it crisp and airy and make it our little summer sanctuary. Thought I'd update on a few things we've done lately.

My fish has a pretty good view of everything on his little molded record perch... which I originally made as a bowl to keep fruit in lol.
